I bought a 2000 Volvo V40 from a wonderful, clean, well spoken (working) young lady.
When I talked to her she said she was moving and would miss her Volvo!
I thought the car MUST be in GREAT shape for her to be so sad.
An exasperated "Good God", just came flying out of my mouth when I saw it.
Even as the car was parked there with the windows and doors closed,
there was this TERRIBLE overpowering smell. I'm pretty sure I threw up a little in my mouth; ugh
There was a certain "SMELL" that I thought was patchouli, mixed with underarm body odor,
mixed with male cat urine, mixed with the vomit of a drunk sailor, mixed with the scent of a horse stall!
I'm not kidding! It took my breath away. No wonder no one wanted to buy it.
I negotiated a good price and started cleaning it. It's a Volvo after all; of course I wanted it!
Shampooed the carpets and seats. STILL STINKS.
Power washed all the nooks and crannies all over. STILL STINKS.
Used bleachless bleach, vinegar, fabric softner (sheets and liquid)crap all over.
Stinks less, but STILL STINKS.
Meanwhile, I'm reading up on this car and come across the fact that it has a cabin filter.
I'LL BE A SON OF A GUN if that wasn't EXACTLY the problem!
I mean, once I took the filter out, it didn't smell like the smell at all;
so I was kind of disappointed that I didn't find some sort of recently deceased alien on it.
But, once I changed the filter, the smell went away. Simply disappeared.
Before I changed the filter my little dog REFUSED to get in so we could go to the dog park;
something she's ALWAYS excited about! After I changed it, up she goes; SERIOUSLY! I'm not joking!
Besides changing the headlights and turn signal lights (the whole assembly)
THIS FILTER WAS THE BEST THING THAT I'VE BOUGHT for this car!
CHANGE YOUR FILTERS PEOPLE. SHEEEESH!

This filter fits my 2002 BMW 325ci perfectly. Installation is very simple, although I had a hard time getting my hand into the tiny space to unlatch one of the latches. But it takes about 5 minutes to replace and costs a whole lot less than having the dealership do it!

Got this for my 2005 Mini Cooper S. It works great.
Be sure to follow these rules to avoid an expensive mistake. (Other cars are probably similar to the Mini Cooper)
1. Get the appropriate socket to remove the filter housing. The Lisle one shown works great.
2. Loosen the filter housing to relieve the vacuum. This will help drain the oil from the filter. You will need to back the housing off until the o-ring unseats to allow air in.
3. Do NOT wipe oil out from inside the housing after removing the old filter. The bypass valve may break.
4. The filter is unidirectional. See which end fits the cap and which end fits into the engine.
5. Push the filter onto the cap then remove.
6. CAREFULLY push the filter into the car until it seats.
7. Install the cap (with new o-ring) and torque accordingly.
Hope this helps.Received item in a reasonable time. Obviously works fine. Will re-order in a couple of months when I need to change my mini's oil again.

It is hard to review an air filter with out a lot of miles on the car and maybe some USED OIL SAMPLES to actually tell how good it really filters the air. I will say this about the filters, they have the same number of pleats as the OEM VW filters, and if you put them side by side they appear to be the exact same. The only difference is that the rubber or foam that runs around the perimeter of the filter is different from the OEM filter. The seal on this filter is more supple and was easier to put in the filter housing and that made the install on the TOUAREG V10 much nicer! After using simple green on my engine I used this. gives a nice coating and shine. I wouldn't lay it on too thick, I would do a couple of light coats after letting it dry. I was happy with the results.

I installed these a few months ago and so far so good. I have not seen any large amount of pad debris or black dust. I have not heard any squeels or squeaks.I can only give these four stars, and not five. Although they come with the shims and grease, they don't come with the clips that are designed to contact the rotor when your pads wear down. You have to remove the old wear clips from your old pads and install on these new ones. Pretty easy to do but I think new ones should be included in the kit

I too installed these on the rear of a Toyota Highlander. The kit comes with everything including the high heat grease. It does not include a new set of metal sensors, not sure why. But it does include the anti-vibration clips.Its been a few months and no noise. Compared to what it cost to have them done I could replace these every year!

These are at least as good as the OEM filters. If you've gone shopping for replacements, you know how hard these are to find and how expensive they are from the official sources. Other aftermarket filters, such as those from the W company, are also very expensive. These appear to be a bit thicker and fuzzier than the OEM filters, and fit the housing a little better. On the box it says "5 Easy Min" for installation. Well, maybe so, but not for a 2001-LS430 Lexus I had to remove the strut-tower cover and radiator cover before I could open the filter enclosure. Seemed more like 15 minutes, but overall not too difficult. These are supposed to be changed every 12,000 miles -- I don't believe that's widely practiced.... So far the ones I've purchased were made in Korea. Seems solid and the price is not as good as a Costco hot-dog, but reasonable.

I have a Hyundai Santa Fe, and have been changing my own oil forever, and finally someone figured out a way to change a filter without getting oil all over the place. This is easily accessed from the top and the oil drains out of it ,so there's no spilling oil when you remove it. Just be sure to properly seat the O-ring gasket (new one comes with it), or it will leak. Price is double (or more) than a conventional filter, which makes no sense, as there's no metal housing or threaded connection. has every little part you need for the filter. works as advertised. Find a wrench for the top access to the filter. It's a bear to get off and a large cresent chews up plastic.
