Reviews of NPN Oil Filter
I bought this filter brand partially based on price and a recommendation from a trusted and thriving local mechanic who told me he had been using NPN oil filters on many of his customers cars for the last several years, and had never had a failure nor had he experienced any engine or lubrication problems that could be attributed to using NPN filters together with a 5000 mile or 6 mos oil and filter change regimen most often using 5w30 conventional API Certified oil "for gasoline engines" with the Star "*" symbol on the container). That is his opinion based on his experience, though I know there are many knowledgeable people who hold very different opinions about change intervals, filters, oil brands and viscosities. I just cite my mechanic's experience to show that the 3,000 mile, premium filter, premium oil approach may be overdoing it for many cars not driven under severe conditions.
Obviously, any car still covered with a drivetrain warranty must be serviced in accordance with the Car manufacturer's Warranty Maintenance Schedule which might be more stringent, and possibly or call for a special type of oil, i.e synthetic or ultra low viscosity such as 0w20.
One final comment: everyone I've discussed this general topic with agrees that: ALL car owners should periodically check the engine oil level. Check it once a month for a few months, and if there is little change or oil loss, then you can relax it to once every two months. Hope this unexpectedly long commentary hasn't raised anyones hackles.

I have used this and the LEXOL cleaner on several cars and trucks I have owned over the last 10 plus years and I love it. I keep my vehicles until the tires fall off and I like my seats neat. I sold a Jeep with 300,000 miles on it and uncracked leather seats because I used this every month. You may want to do what I do and order a spray bottle of each the cleaner and this conditioner and also order a large refill of the conditioner because I find I use 2-3 times as much conditioner as cleaner. The cleaner is very concentrated and liberal use of this conditioner keeps the leather from getting as dirty so get it very clean once, soak it down with this conditioner then you'll not need to use much cleaner. Follow the directions and you will be happy with this.

I cannot recommend Lexol highly enough. I have a SteelBuilt, all leather, overstuffed, 96" sofa that sits near a large sun drenched window. Over the years, the leather began to look very distressed, but remained soft and pliable. Lexol was recommended by a friend, who had used it both on his automobile interior and his riding saddles with great success. I decided to give it a try. It is an absolutely amazing product. I was not successful following the bottle's directions, however. The product did not penetrate the leather evenly, until I decided to apply it as though I were massaging lotion into my own skin. Then, it worked great. I poured some Lexol creme into my cupped hands and massaged it into the leather. Immediately, the sun bleaching began to disappear. I wiped off the excess and allowed the sofa to completely dry. The leather on the sofa looks as good as the day the sofa was delivered. I have used this product for many years and found it great for many items. I especially like it for use on my leather motorcycle jacket. I have been using Lexol for the past 3 years, and in my current car, Acura RDX, the leather seats are now over 2 years old, and yet looks like it has just been out of the showroom. The key is to regularly apply a thin coating to the seats, a little goes a long way with this product. I condition my leather seats once every month. It smells great too and if you apply only a thin coating, it is not sticky at all.I have tried other stuff, like Meguiar's, mothers, etc... they don't come close to it's ability to maintain leather like Lexol does. In my old BMW 330i, where I was using Meguiar's leather conditioner, that leather seat was showing the signs of aging, cracking lines appearing throughout the seating surface. The Meguiar's stuff was also very sticky, which implies that very little gets absorbed.
Lexol on the other hand, you hardly see a trace of it after 10 mins following applying the coating. The leather is noticeably more supple.
The small bottle 8oz for $6 typically last me about 1 year of usage. Key is not to apply too much in each application; apply just enough that the leather will be sufficiently saturated and infused with the leather conditioning emulsion. If you happen to apply too much, and you can tell by how wet it looks, simply take a dry microfiber cloth and wipe off the extra.

I have been using Lexol to condition my living room bomber jacket leather couch, love seat and oversized stuffed chair for over 10 years. We find it is easy to apply with your hand, then buff after it dries. We retreat each year. I would highly recommend.

Several web sites, where folks had cut filters open to compare, noted the silicone anti drain back valve, higher filter media area, and general good construction compared to other aftermarket filters. At ~1/2 the cost of the OEM, its a good value.

Gumout company has been around since 1945. This product contains detergents which Lucas UCL lacks. All-in-one from gumout appears to be technically more beneficial than Lucas UCL. I have run both in my Yamaha 2009 TMAX and a Kymco 2005 Grandvista scooters. No issues ever with Wix, they are my preferred brand. Had to order to get Wix for friend's HHR, and when replacing was flabbergasted at the difficulty of replacing this compared to other vehicles. You have to remove the hose to the throttle body, unclip the IAT sensor, pry off the EGR hose, then lift abruptly to get off the top of the engine, then use a Torx tool to remove about 7 screws hope you have one when you finally get to that step.Best Deals for Wix 49064 Air Filter, Pack of 1
This review is for the WIX 49064 engine air filter. Fits perfect in my 2009 HHR. This filter is equal to the ACDelco but costs a bit less. WIX filters are quality filters that you can tell just by looking. They appear to have more pleats, are sturdy and not as flexible/rubbery as is FRAM. Easy to install once the screw next to firewall is out. You need an extension bar and a 10 mm (?) socket to get at it. Recommended replacement interval is 12,000 mile. I should have read the reviews before hand. This does NOT fit a 2007 Camry Hybrid and their database is wrong for other cars too. It's 2 inches too short and a little wider. For the price, you won't find a better tool for the job. This grips the cap in BMW N54 & N52 engines, like My 2007 525 xi, easily. 21mm attachment is needed to use the tool, and that isn't in every 'mechanics toolset' -so you may need to get one of those on Amazon too. I used to remove and attach the oil filter housing by hand. This wrench made it so much easier to do the job. Only two issues with the wrench. First, it can get stuck onto the oil filter housing after tightening. After a few whacks, I was able to slide it off. Second, this wrench needs a 21mm socket to use. This is the OEM filter. So, it fit perfectly. The Enclave air filter is harder to change than most. I can change the air filter on other cars in less than a minute. It took me about 5 minutes to change the filter on our Enclave. The Enclave air filter has several Torx screws (T25) holding the cover in place. Some of them are very hard to reach. So, you will probably need to remove the hose connecting the air cleaner to the throttle body. This is easy to do, but requires a flathead screw driver. Be careful with the filter gasket. It is easy to get it out of alignment, and if it is not aligned, it may not seal.
My dealer wanted $45 to replace/install this same filter.

GM dealer cost is $13.24. They buy most of them from a WD at at least 10% off of dealer. Which puts their true cost at $11.92...The GM part # is 15278634...Many counterman at a GM store can if they want and if your a good customer,sell you at GM cost +10%. Yep, it's OEM so it better fit. This filter is for our 2010 Buick Enclave and drops right in with very little problem. Getting the engine air filter box open is a little tricky, you will probably want to remove the rear-most plug screw (by the air filter) from the black plastic trim that goes from the radiator to the hood hinge, so you can lift up the trim a little to the side and open the air box top.You will also need a torx driver for the screws on the air box. There is one under the tube from the box to the engine which needs a right angle driver or very short handle, and there are 2 behind the air box, near the firewall, that need a long handle to reach. I used a right angle driver with bit extensions to get to both. If you drop one of the screws as I did, when re-installing, it will fall to the bottom of the engine compartment and get stuck on the underbody tray. You'll need to drop the tray to recover it. Not a big problem, just frustrating.
