I used this on a 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser with 160K miles on it. We're just trying to get the last few miles out of it until we send her on to the junk yard. The transmission started slipping and I used this to see if it would help. I used the whole bottle, and the transmission hasn't slipped since. Also, there was a small transmission fluid leak and this seems to have significantly slowed if not stopped that as well. It's not a permanent fix, but for $10, it's worth a shot for a short term fix.Best Deals for Lucas Transmission Fix with ATF Conditioner 24 oz.
I have 2 vehicles with the GM 4L60-E transmission. One is a 2002 which came from the factory with Dexron III and the other is 2007 that came with Dexron VI. The 07 always had a delayed shift into 2nd gear, almost felt like a slip, but not quite that bad. This was more noticeable after the vehicle warmed up and at low rpm's. The 2002 was fine when I got it, but when I flushed the transmission and put the Dexron VI in, (GM's recommendation) it started acting the same way as the 07. I had a hunch that it was the thinner fluid. Dexron VI is a good fluid but it is a lot thinner on the hot end (check mfg's viscosity values for both and you'll see). I figured I would give this additive a try. I dropped the pan to ensure there was not a bunch of sludge that the new fluid flushed out (this in common in a neglected transmission after an initial flush).I hate to sound like a commercial, but the results were immediate when I installed this product. I have ran it about 1000 miles since putting this in my transmission and I get a little grin on my face every time the vehicle shifts now. I plan on changing the filter and fluid that is in the pan after 50,000 miles (which is approximately 40% of the fluid in the transmission). So far this has been a good product for me.
