We run a 15 kw diesel genset at our remote Canadian fishing lodge in Canada for 24/7 power and one thing you do not want to do is blow up a $10,000 Cummins / Onan diesel genset with a lube problem. With this thing built with Kubota's reliable diesel engine and running 24/7 for 10 days at a time I want to trust that it will not fail us. I've used Baldwin filters for a number of years and they work just fine and do the job. Originally the factory filters were shorter Fleetguard filters which were just fine however the dealer had us switch from the 3 inch or so long one to one that was about 4 inches long so we'd get a bit more filter media in use. Now I've switched to these B2 filters with exactly the same canister diameter, thread, gasket and internal valve set up BUT it is twice as long and gives more filtration. More square inches = less crud collected over 10 days per square inch and therefore a better filtering job. This is based on over 20 years of running these things and multiple generators with well over 24,000 hours of running on each. Just make sure to get the right filter for your application and Baldwin won't let you down!
