This is the same filter as the Mann 950/4. In fact, it even says so right on the filter itself. It's a must have for VW Passat B5-B5.5's. You can also get this at AZ and AAP stores. If ordering one from Amazon, why not go with the actual Mann and not pay the extra $1.50 for the Purolator sticker? Either way, this is a great filter and highly recommended to combat the potential sludge issues with VW's 1.8T engines.

Amazing filter. Steel is very hard. Fits my Volvo 240 perfectly. There are many good filters out there and this is one of them.

Stay away from Fram Oil Filters, aka the "orange death can"s, they are a fastest way to kill your motor.
