I've been doing my own work for many years, I've known mechanics, gearheads, engine rebuilders and there are only a handfull of oil filter I use Bosch, Wix, Hastings and Puro-Gold. When you peel away the slick advertisements and endorsements and actually examine the quality of the filters internals the choice should be clear. Out of these brands I keep tabs on which ones are on sale and/or a rebate.

So this filter is actually identical to the Purolator PureOne (Purolator is a joint venture between Bosch and Mann+Hummel), which in the realm of oil filter enthusiasts (yeah, there is such a thing) is regarded as a pretty decent filter. Purolator also makes the OEM Mopar filter, though the Mopar filter is a rebranded Purolator Premium Plus.
According to a tear-down of identically-sized filters, the Bosch Filtech / Purolator PureOne had the most filtration media, and has a stem-based bypass valve with extra pleats. Nice.
There's its pedigree.
As for how good it is? I've gone through three of them, and haven't had any concerns. They go on nice and smooth, and don't blow up. This filter is built like a tank, and I think I'm ready to convert from my unnatural devotion to Mobil 1 filters.

The Bosch Premium filter is a terrific oil filter. Based on my own experience plus a lot of research, this Bosch is, in my opinion, the best oil filter value on Amazon. I believe it is made by Purolator and based on my comparisons of their internals, it is nearly identical in build to the PureOne filter. With a silicone anti-drainback valve, a very large filter media surface area, and a price of just over $5, I'm not sure why I'd ever by a different filter.
