The "A" suffix in the part number means this kit comes with a type of synthetic cork composition gasket that is thicker and said to be better (more resistant to leakage) than the usual black rubber gasket that is included in most filter kits. The only caution is, like any cork composition gasket, it is more fragile than a rubber gasket, so handle with care. The strainer in my kit was marked made in China, however after careful inspection I couldn't find anything to complain about. It is quite well made, and the seaming is, in fact, better that that on the Lexus OEM strainer it replaced. The fit was perfect.
