The filter material is pretty good, but the shell is made from extremely low-grade plastic. It was broken in the box. Ended up swapping out just the paper filter onto the factory installed filter shell. Got rid of the funky smell for sure!

I noticed that my AC has had a funky smell, I of course figured it was the Cabin filter(s). I went ahead and removed my old ones and of course they had alot of small leaves and dust (Live in Arizona). After installing the Beck Arnley cabin filters it made a BIG difference. The AC now smells very clean and comes out a bit more powerful. I would HIGHLY recommened to any owner of an 00-03 maxima. Keep in mind that some may not have a Cabin filter, but i would recommend you install one as it was an option on some years. you'd be glad you did.
