I purchased this item to use in my 2006 Linhai "300" scooter. I wished to replace the thin foam stock air-filter arrangement, but maintain the stock air box and appearance. I had read on a scooter forum that this model filter would work. With the exception of a short length of PVC pipe to connect the scooter intake to the filter, no other modifications were required. I threw away the stock filter foam and metal mesh retaining element. The filter and PVC pipe all fit very nicely in the stock air box with the cover on, no problems. I now have the confidence that my scooter has a highly effective, quality K&N air filter, that should be better than the single thin layer of foam that made up the stock air filter. There has been no apparent performance penalties nor need to change the carburetor jetting.
